GE has announced the formation of Trailer Mechanic University, an internal training program intended to attract and retain qualified trailer mechanics to serve the trucking industry. Instructors will include both in-house experts and trainers from leading trailer manufacturers and major sub-component firms. Agreements have already been reached with Carlisle Motion Controls Inc, Michelin, Trucklite and ArvinMeritor. |

GE's Trailer Mechanic University will offer classes exclusively to employees of Trailer Fleet Services through a combination of on-site and Web-based instruction. GE's Trailer Fleet Services business has announced its completion of a May 2006 pledge to have 10,000 of its rental trailers carry "Good Stuff, Trucks Bring It" decals to support the image campaign of the American Trucking Associations. At the same time, it has announced plans to install another 10,000 decals. |

GE has promoted Brent Russell, of Charlotte, NC, to the role of national sales vice president for the company's Trailer Fleet Services business in the U.S., and appointed Bill Thomas of Mississauga, Ontario, as General Manager for the company's Canada business.
