Rebills under $25 waived

Return your trailers with confidence that minor repairs will be on the house.

GE's Trailer Fleet Services business announces it will waive damage rebills under $25 for individual rental trailers that are returned requiring minor repairs. If the total amount of the repairs is under $25 USD, you get no rebill.

GE industry experts answer your fleet management questions

Ask an Expert question: Can you help me reduce my trailer maintenance expense? We are looking at outsourcing as an option, but I'm concerned I may be missing some of the costs of both options.
Chris Kelley, GE Product Manager - Maintenance Management, answers:
Yes, I can recommend several ways for you to save some money. First, you have to think about where you do maintenance and what the cost of downtime is at these locations. Many customers have a need to do

maintenance at their terminals, but that may not be the location of their most critical downtime. Once you know where your critical downtime is, then you need to determine who will do the best work for the lowest cost.

There is always a trade-off between running your own repair facilities and outsourcing. Doing work in-house can be very expensive if you do not utilize your resources well. On the other hand, you can watch your maintenance costs climb if you have too many suppliers and do not keep close tabs on them.

GE's 53-foot Mobile Solutions Center back on the road after a hi-tech upgrade

The upgrade included a new interior design and new, hands-on technology exhibits.

The bright blue, custom 53-foot drop deck trailer known as the GE Mobile Solutions Center has returned to the open road this month following the installation of a new interior design and new, hands-on technology exhibits. The changes will help GE's Trailer Fleet Services business continue to bring the latest in trailer tracking technology direct to customers' doorsteps.

A new section inside the Mobile Solution Center is GE's "Look into the Future" section, which consists of two interactive kiosks at which customers can learn about RFID technology and how a tire pressure sensor works. These exhibits were assembled by telematics scientists with GE's Global Research Center's Pervasive Decisioning team.
