POTTSVILLE, PA, January 20, 2006-Fanelli Brothers Trucking Company is now using GE's VeriWise Asset Intelligence system as an important new tool to improve both the company's performance and customer confidence.

With its geographically diverse U.S. operations, Fanelli Brothers needs to know exact, daily trailer locations-whether on the road, being loaded at a customer's warehouse or in the company's Pottsville, Pa., or Muskogee, Okla., facilities. "Before we equipped our trailer fleet with VeriWise, one of our trailers went 'missing' for more than nine months," said Fanelli. "It turns out the trailer was inadvertently picked up from a former customer site by another carrier and utilized by the other shipper before we were able to track it down and recover the asset. Had the trailer been equipped with VeriWise, we could have easily tracked it and returned it to our fleet."

Fanelli also said the ability of the VeriWise system to advise when the doors of a trailer are opened, or when the unit is connected to a tractor, will enable the company to further understand how their assets are being used, especially those not physically located on their properties or in-transit.

"Although we haven't started billing others for unauthorized use of our trailers in their possession, we are beginning to gather the data from the VeriWise system that would enable us to do so in the future," Fanelli added.
